Addressing the awareness deficit on EHRs is central to success:

• competing priorities in healthcare
• quality and cost effectiveness in healthcare
• cost–benefit approach needed
• Helping to build the Business Case for EHRs will be a major objective of ProRec Ireland
• Involvement in the network of ProRec centres and the support of the EUROREC Institute is important for the succcess of the Irish centre
• Building sustainability will be a very important success factor
