EUROREC
INSTITUTE
 |
One of the primary aims of the WideNet initiative has been the foundation of a EUROREC Institute that will lead, support and coordinate a permanent network of national ProRec centres and provide a number of useful services related to EHR's to the European market. Such services are likely to include the development of criteria for evaluating healthcare IT solutions prior to purchase and a means of accreditation of products and solutions. |
The
EUROREC Institute will interact with and maintain an open information
channel at international level with various organisations e.g.
with standards bodies such as CEN, ISO, also with HL7;with international
institutions and organisations such as EC, WHO, UN/Edifact,
EFMI, IMIA, MRI, EHTEL and G7.The direct participation of many
of the members of national ProRec centres that are members of
the EUROREC Institute in the standards making process in Europe,
USA and world-wide, means that a rich source of valuable information
is is available on current developments and "state of the
art". The fruits of these various interactions at international
level are available to the network of ProRec centres and constitute
a valuable service of the EUROREC Institute.
The
annual EUROREC Conference has in a short time become a main
event concerning EHR's that is held in Europe and as such it
constitutes a valuable service provided by the EUROREC Institute.
